Life is expensive.  I didn't realize how much parents have to think about budgeting. Bryan taught us budgeting, investing and saving. I really liked the part about donating.

Budgeting applies to everyone. I had thought of it as a way for people in bad situations to stop losing money, but it is really a way to know where I spend money and help meet my goals. This applies to everyone, no matter how old they are or how much money they have.

I thought stocks and bonds were super complicated, but Bryan explained how they work, and I felt much more confident after the classes. He also showed us how index funds means that we buy many stocks together, and how to check expenses to make sure we don’t pay too much.

Bryan showed us ways to be smart with our money, and how we need to think about what we want now and in the future. I liked seeing examples of how getting more competitive interest can build more money over time.

Bryan pointed out how important it is to pay attention to details. We cannot just assume that banks will pay us the most interest, it is up to us to make sure we are getting what we deserve from our money.

I mostly liked how to look up different stocks and do research. Seeing stocks of companies that I like made them seem more real as things to buy.

 I have had trouble in the past because I quickly spent all the money I earned.  The class helped me see how money can grow over time if we stay focused on what we really want and how discipline can help us spend as soon as we get paid.  The budget workshop was a big help to see how I can reach a goal if I stay focused.

I liked learning about stocks, and seeing how they can grow over time but can't get frustrated if they go down for a while.  Bryan showed us ways to see how our stock choices have done over time, and we saw how any stock we chose can have good times and bad so we need patience.
